ISLAMABAD: Punjab Chief Minster’s (CM) aide for AI & Special Initiatives, Ali Dar on Sunday reaffirmed that under CM Maryam vision, Punjab aimed to become the world’s first state-of-the-art AI-driven province by 2029, integrating all departments and positioning itself as a leading hub for smart, technology-enabled urban development focused on vertical growth, sustainability and smart-city principles.
Talking to PTV News, Ali Dar explained that Punjab would establish a strong foothold in AI by integrating E-Khidmat Centers and AI delivery units across the province.
The initiative would follow international best practices and public-private partnerships, ensuring global standards of efficiency and expertise, he said, adding, this framework aimed to position Punjab as a leader in AI innovation on platforms such as the World Economic Forum, promoting financial inclusion and benefiting the public under CM Maryam’ s vision.
He highlighted the Maryam Dastak program as a key pillar of this transformation, emphasizing how AI would improve service delivery and operational efficiency across all government departments.
From health to education, every sector would leverage AI tools to optimize resources, enhance decision-making, and ensure that public services reach citizens more effectively, he mentioned.
Ali Dar also underlined the role of universities and other educational establishments in Punjab, which would form a comprehensive network for skill development and training. Students and young professionals would receive specialized AI-focused programs to upgrade their skills, preparing the workforce for the evolving technology landscape.
Ali Dar further highlighted the proactive approach of CBD Punjab and RUDA in embracing AI and innovative financial technologies, assuring full support from his office to provide policy guidance, technical collaboration and pilot initiatives. These efforts aimed to position Punjab as a leading hub for smart, technology-enabled urban development.

Focused on establishing Pakistan’s first and largest IT city, CBD Punjab is committed to delivering world-class infrastructure that meets international standards and drives the nation’s digital and economic transformation.
He concluded by stating that the combination of AI-driven governance, international collaboration and a skilled talent pipeline would make Punjab a model province for technology-enabled development, setting benchmarks for efficiency, innovation, and inclusive growth.
