Pakistani-American political group  congratulates Pakistan’s leadership on mediating US-Iran truce

NEW YORK: A prominent Pakistani-American political group has congratulated Pakistan’s leadership for brokering a ceasefire between United States and Iran, hoping that it would pave the way to a comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
“As Pakistani-Americans, we take immense pride in this achievement,”  the American-Pakistan Public Affairs Committee (APPAC) said in a statement on Tuesday.
“We believe this is a watershed moment—one that not only averts an immediate catastrophe but lays a foundation for enduring peace, sustainable economic growth, and a future in which the entire region can thrive in harmony, cooperation, and progress for generations to come,” the statement said.
The government of Pakistan, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, demonstrated firm resolve in securing a historic ceasefire.
Dr. Ijaz Ahmed, Chairman of APPAC and Asad Chaudhry, a Board Member and Director of Media Relations, expressed the hope that this peace effort would usher in a new era of regional cooperation and  unite many Muslim-majority countries.
