RDMC Awarded 23 Scholarships To Chaghi Students

QUETTA: Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC) has awarded 23 scholarships to students who have completed their primary education at company-supported schools in communities surrounding its project operations, enabling them to continue their studies at a residential school in Quetta.
To ensure a smooth transition, orientation and interactive sessions were held at the Progressive Education Network (PEN) Nokkundi office—RDMC’s partner organization for this initiative—for selected students from Durbunchah, Humai, Mashkichah, Nokchah, and Tung Kachawo.
During these sessions, representatives from RDMC’s Community Relations team, along with PEN, briefed students on the scholarship program and the next phase of their academic journey, said a news release.
After the orientation, the students, accompanied by program staff, departed for Quetta, taking a significant step forward in both their academic journey and personal growth.
Highlighting RDMC’s commitment to education, Muhammad Essa Tahir, Community Investment Lead, stated that education remains a key priority under the company’s Community Investment Program.
“In areas where access to education was previously limited, these initiatives are opening pathways for opportunity, empowerment, and long-term growth.
The journey of students from remote villages to quality educational institutions demonstrates that education is no longer a distant possibility but an attainable and impactful reality,” he added.
Beyond school-level initiatives, RDMC is also supporting higher education opportunities for youth across Chagai District and Balochistan. Through its partnership with Sukkur IBA University, ten students are currently pursuing degrees in geology and engineering under scholarship programs.
Additionally, RDMC has supported 52 students through the IBA “Foundation Semester Scholarships,” designed to prepare them for admission into leading universities in Pakistan. These initiatives aim to ensure continuity in education while equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to compete at a national level.
With the completion of this primary school scholarship round, RDMC’s entire scholarship cycle for both school-level and university-level programs for the 2026 academic year is now complete. The next phase of scholarship opportunities is anticipated in late 2026 for the 2027 academic cycle and will be announced through official channels. All awards will be subject to merit-based selection, academic performance, and available positions.
